About Mathify

Every page should feel like having a great tutor.

That is the whole goal, and everything else follows from it. A good tutor does not open with a definition — they show you what the idea is for, give you a picture you can hold in your head, and only then write the formula down. Mathify is an attempt to put that on a web page, for free, with no ads and no paywall.

How Every Page Is Written

The approach is the one 3Blue1Brown made famous: intuition before formalism. A formula is the compressed answer to a question, and it is close to meaningless until you have felt the question. So each topic is built in the same order:

  1. Why does this exist? What breaks, or stays invisible, without it.
  2. A picture or an analogy. Something concrete to attach the symbols to — a hanging chain, a long-exposure photograph, a stack of books held overhead.
  3. Then the equation, derived rather than declared, with each symbol tied back to the picture.
  4. Something you can move. Drag a load, change a soil layer, watch the answer respond. Reading that a moment diagram collapses to zero is not the same as watching it happen.
  5. Worked examples in full, every step shown, and a short quiz aimed at the misconception rather than at recall.

Where a page has a calculator, its default values reproduce that page's own first worked example, so you can change one input at a time and see which way the answer moves. The numbers behind them are checked against an independent calculation before they ship — a tutor who quietly gets the arithmetic wrong is worse than no tutor.

Quality education should not depend on where you live or what you can afford. Everything here stays free.
